An awesome windy season just finished here in Noth-West coast Of Sri Lanka and it's time to relax before the new one!

May to end of September there were maximum 5 days of no wind, other days it was blowing aruond 22 knots night and day! The windiest place I've ever been to! Another thing that makes this spot amazing is having all possible conditions like flat water shallow lagoon and wavy ocean with a small reef brake (may-sept). Also Sri Lanka is known for its great history and beautiful sightseeing.

However, the question is: Load of crap by someone who is running a business there or really an undiscovered gem?
Really +20 knots every day?
Does the wind vary from morning to evening or is it constant on?
Is there a local thermal effect or is it windy everywhere?
Can you give some more info on who you are and what your relation to the spot is.
Also, the waves. Any good? Wind direction in relation to wave? Size of wave? How often are there waves?

Yes, I can confirm that this is accurate. Went to Sri Lanka 3 times this year, stayed at the Kite Kuda camp each time. Had wind every single day on all three visits. It was usually around 20 knots. Sometimes more sometimes a little less.

My third trip was just two weeks ago at the end of the season. Kited everyday all day with the exception of one morning.

The main season is from may until end of september, wind everyday for this period.

There are 15 spot around our camp, we are specialize in kite trip, we are the biggest school in sri lanka, the atmosphere in the camp is awesome, we cook delicious food, you should come and visit us, we can drive you in the country as well if you wish to discover this marvellous country.

We are building a second kite camp, it will be ready for the 1 of may.

DIl, hows the wind these days? I noticed on windguru that its looking pretty good. Was thinking of making an offseason winter trip.

The last days we had windspeeds around 14-16 kts average per day in kalpitiya.
