Trust me, you are going to have a great time. Just make sure you pack all your gear in one Golf bag or else you might not get them in time. These small planes they are using for UNION ISLAND are very small.
Also make sure to contact Jeremie Tronet who owns the only Kite School in Union Island. He is the man and he will do any thing in his power to help you, even feed you launch.

Thanks for the tips! I booked my room through Linn at JT! We are all set for Union :)

Well shawn13 you are 100% in very good hands. Linn is an amazing person. Having Linn and Jeremie Tronet on your side is the best you can get.

Hey Shawn and Dimitri. I plan to go to Union in January. How much trouble did you have with the golf bags on the plane from Barbados to Union. I emailed them and they told me my 59" (median sized cabrinha) golf bag was too big for the planes luggage compartment.

My buddy and i both brought the Dakine Club Wagons 150cm and didnt have an issue. they said if it didnt fit it would be on the next flight but they did end up fitting.

Thanks for the info Shawn. 150cm =59 inches so my bag is the same size as yours and I should be OK. I'm not worried if it comes on the next flight on the way down to Union but coming back it could be a hassle if it comes on the next flight as the bag would miss our connection back to Toronto and I would have to hope for the best..... Maybe if I show them a copy of your post they will not give me trouble at the SVG check in LOL.

So what is the best time of the year for wind in Union? I travel every year in July for a week of international kiting somewhere. Would July be a good month?

Best time for wind is January to early April. Depending on the year you can extend this to December to late April.
