Characteristics of a good TT Board for riding Toeside?

Postby DirkPR » Wed Feb 13, 2013 5:07 pm

Hi All:

I know that riding toeside will depend a lot on the technique of the rider and also is better with a surfboard.

But what about a TwinTip? What characteristics that make a TT better for Toeside?
Fins (small/large)
Rocker or Flat surface?
Flex or Rigid
Footstraps Stance (wider/closer)
Board Width?
Convave?

Tks

riding toeside or blind on a twintip is exactly like riding heelside, except you are pointed the other way. Whatever is good for you heelside is good toeside. A good harness is how you make toeside riding more comfortable.

I've tried most Every combination of fins and size available, for riding
a TT ,Toe-side -- as well as riding strapped on a surfboard.

NOTHING helped More than purchasing a Dynabar V7 .

i am forced to ride a seat harness or else my back kills me. i could never ride toeside comfortably until i got a dynabar. I can second that notion. At this point i could ride most anyboard now that i can actually turn my hips properly.

so, not sure about what board is best but the harness dilemma has been the key for me.

I concur with both of the above posts. I too use and seat harness and the dynabar made all the difference. Keeping your speed up toeside helps on a tt as well
