Wainman kite setting for waves

Postby salvino » Mon Jan 28, 2013 4:02 pm

Hi,
What is best sitting for wave riding with cross wind direction? Also, what setting is good for learning unhooked (not in waves)?

I've played with adjustments and the performance really does change.

To get the kite to hang further back in the window change the bridle settings to downwind. probably best to trim the back lines on strong or medium wind as low wind setting might cause the kite to back stall.

As for unhooked riding....I suggest to ride factory setting and pull the depower strap so there's tension on the back lines and you have about 5 cm (2") of space left. That way the kite will remain in a proper shape while you ride unhooked. If you do that and keep practicing while riding downwind you'll get the hang of it in no time

Good luck!
