Totally agree.

It's a big air contest. If people are wanting anything other than big air then they kinda missed the point of the event.

...and about landing...agree too. It's like 3 pt shooters in basketball. It doesn't count unless you hit it.
plummet wrote:its funny how different people want to bend the comp to suit their own personal style. Toby wants to see more airstyle. others think the waves are waisted because they aren't being surfed. i'm sure theres dudes wanting to see it all done unhooked.

Me I want to see the biggest mother of all air followed by and insanely long glide , backed up by a completely in control pillowy soft landing.

In my own weird rule book if you crash land then the entire jump doesn't count. you didn't pull it off. So landing it smoothly rates very highly on my airmchair score card.

It would be interesting to see a comp going for max airtime in second. Not how high you jumped but how long you stayed in the air. That would be very interesting and black and white for results.

Those guys are ripping in...sideshore 30kn wind on 9 & 10m2..taking off waves ramps of 2 meters
These elite athletes are 15m to 20m++ high in the air

Doing kiteloops...helicopter loops....floating very long distances off the wind.................
.....yet if you time their jumps they are great but only 8...9..10..maybe an 11 seconds

Nobody can even do a..13....or even 14 seconds jump :-?

So that is the proof right there to all those believing the Draft video
Mate, I agree with you 100% but let the others still believe there was no fake...
And even it there was a BIG gust and thermal wind and a hurricane and whatever underneath to get flying that long, it was definitely not the kite's design or kiter's skills who made this jump that long.
I'm still waiting for the answer from the Naish guy (was it Damien?) about the specs of the kite...
Well?

I still don't understand how you can be so stupid... Or maybe you just think this is fun. You admit that at King of the Air Jesse is getting maybe 11 second jumps on a Tourch. So why don't you think he could get 14 seconds on a kite specifically designed for hang time. Plus everyone knows he has done jumps that are longer.

Detlef's video is by far the best IMO, and perfectly matched with the zoom, not too close nor too far - really a good job.

These guys are simply a class of their own - I dont care what those "internet" surfers who are criticising write in here 8)
One day they might realize they live in a dream world ha haa
Or maybe not - if they have never BEEN in the actual world :naughty:

Awesome to see so much power and control, and the grand master himself as a bonus :thumb:

Yes, perfect video...beter than the red bull one!
And great to see the kites and height...since many wonder how and when to loop the kite for softer landings.

Thx Detlef!
