Guess my thread got hijacked! Then again I should have expected that since every time some one asks a question about a certain product all you ever hear about is every kite or board out there but the one asked about on this forum.

There are a few snowboard companies manufacturing in the USA. Mervin is the biggest, Never Summer and Venture also make all of their boards in the US. There is a marked difference in quality as compared to Chinese snowboards, and the high resale value and durability compensates for the added cost. Of course snowboarding is a much bigger market.

I have a slingshot glide 2006,great quality board,great light wind board,wish more boards were made in USA,worth the extra money,i love american cars and motorbikes,these are built to last ,TONY

I am glad my Sligshot kite was NOT made in the US. I would not have been able to pay for it and it migth have worked just as american cars do:
It would only fly in a straight line and it would be so heavy that it would require a 14m Rally to barely fly in 40 knots. It would only hold together for 3 sessions before rattling along and startt loosing parts.
Or maybe it would work as MS Windows does... fallig out of the sky for no reason what so ever only to read in the instructions that if you encounter this minor problem, swim back to shore, pack up and reinflate your kite again.
Get real guys, american manufacturing has lost its competitive adge years ago, Thats why most US brand do not manufacture at home.
But don´t be sad, I drive a BMW X3, entirely assembled in China!

The women made there are pretty OK too.....
