Mauritius help please....

Hi - I've been to Mauritius a lot over the years, but always in the windy season.
Am off tomorrow for a few weeks, wasn't going to take any gear because it's not windy season - but windguru is calling for lots of wind.
Can somebody tell me whether at this time of year, a strong forecast just signals squally, rain driven fronts that you wouldn't want to kite in - or whether.....the wife gets the special treat of accompanying me with my gear when for once, just once, she finally thought she had me beaten!
