Hey guys,
The problem is that there is some sticky-back tape that is creeping out into the interior of the batten pocket. I recommend getting some sort of wooden dowel or a long screwdriver, basically something that you can use that won't tear your canopy material, to push through the pocket to sort of open it up a little bit. You want to make it easier to slide your batten in the pocket. Once you get the batten in, you won't really need to take it out so the sticky stuff isn't a problem then. But just try to get something in there to make it easier to slide the batten in there without ripping the canopy material. I hope that helps!
