A kite that has not been mentioned yet that I have found one of the best in lightwind for waves is the
Airush Lithium.
It is very stable and flies extremely well underpowered, it is also very fast turning with a pivotal turn, perfect for waves. Also drifts extremely well and good response with slack lines. I have used the Airush one in the waves in smaller sizes and this is also great, even faster turning and lighter weight, they are combing the two in 2013 for the 16m to make a 16m one strut Lithium to reduce the weight and also a an 18m with no struts if you want a super lightwind kite!

Anyone with updates/recommendations? Looking for small wave kite that performs well in gusty conditions.

I have been riding BWS for years, more recently Ocean Rodeo Roam. Both solid wave kites, all around good performers.
I briefly had a Liquid Force Wow, which flew a little different, more forward in the window and a tiny leading edge. Maybe more a wave/freeride hybrid?
A buddy just got a 4m Slingshot SST for foiling and he's flipping out how much he loves it, seems to have changed his life ... though before that, he said the North/Duotone Neo was the best wave kite ever. I flew the 8m once and it was really nice and steady, rock solid construction, they are pricey but good quality.

I like the Pansh A15 for surf. Can use the 18m down to about 7-8knots.

9m Airush ultra or Ozone alpha. Range w/foil up progressing to TT is 8knots - 30 knots. Doesn't boost well though.

I’m usually on a 10m rpm while everyone else is flying smaller kites 9m to 7m. My 10m is at its upper end during gusts (sometimes overpowered).
I have gone through a few small kites over the years and still have not found one I like. Looking for recommendations. Would like to find a small wave kite that handles 20kts up to 35kts on a strapless board if one exists. The 8m kites I’ve owned only perform well in 30kts - 35kts which is not much range.
I have been considering:
8 or 9 slingshot SST
8 or 9 ozone Reo

If you ride a 10m when others are on smaller kites and you find an 8m only works for you in 30+, then I suspect it's you not the kite. Either you are large or you like to ride powered? No disrespect intended, just may help you diagnose what you need to not expect a miracle kite.
The 8ms I have ridden I'd say comfortable wind range is 22 to 34 on surfboard. Down to 18 on foil

I’m no Peter Pan, 6’ tall and about 200lbs. RPMs are hybrid C and they don’t have much low end.
Demo’d a 9m Raptor in conditions the 10m RPM would feel underpowered. Only downside with the raptor is not much bar pressure like the old RPMs. Unfortunately, havent demo’d any wave kites lately and want a small, fast kite that has decent bar pressure, drifts, and loops quick (unlike the 2019 RPMs).
