Funny, I've been trying to get Carved the custom wing of Core to build me a Mutant since before Christmas and I want it in red, and I want a nice pickle fork at the back. Why? no reason other than I think a swallow tail looks cool, always have, that and I get cramp riding toe side on a directional surf board, it's an age thing...

Glad to see someone else thinks they should make a comeback.

Plummet, what about seeing it as a huge chance, to get a strapped waveboard now, and learn to ride it well?

You will probably end up loving it, but you have to use some time and believe in it of course :thumb:

Maybe i would apreciate one more now. I have owned the waveboard in the past and didnt like it.

But I know what i like the most and that is boost and wave ride 50/50 split. I want equal parts boost and equal parts wave ride. I don't like the constant need to jybe on the sb and that detracts from my riding experience. I withstand jybing on the foil as there is no other way. However that too detracts from my foiling experience.

One of the most favourite things i do is boost heel side natural foot on the wave out and switch to goofy mid jump, downloop landing on the wave face to ride the wave back in. I cant do that on a strapped SB.

So... mutant number 3 will be the build. Maybe strapped sb down the line as a gap filler between mutant and foil.

Actually that is my favorite move also on a strapped surfboard
Exactly like you describe but ....
....Landing on the wave face "Toeside".....very smooth
For extra style i do a tweaked table top at the apex of the jump just before the kite downloop
Very fun
I had mutants in 2002-03-04
But no need for them anymore

Are you taking off toeside? or somehow switching your feet mid-air? or are you landing healside down the line to then carver toeside upwind?
In my instance i take off heel and land toeside down riding down the line then carve a top turn to healside upwind if that makes sence?

In the opposite wind direction...yes.. i will take off jump toeside ( right foot back)....land heelside....carve up the wave toeside
In your scenario i do take off heelside ( also right foot back)...land toeside down the line...then carve a top turn heelside

No feet are switched in mid air in either case....both feet remain in the straps the whole time
What you are saying about your favorite move makes perfect sense !!
And that's how it's done with surfboard directional
It is not a must to ride a mutant for that particular move

The one you made was stolen? :o

FFS, what a shithole NZ has become. Half a dozen guys had gear stolen in the first two months of the new year. In March, the Chch Press had an article titled "800 burglaries a month in Canterbury" and apparently the police have no idea
