AR5 in 15,5 size was my first kite. Lightwind monster...(I'm just 70kg) and kiting was not banned yet.

One of the guys had a 7.5 and 9.5m2 AR5 for many years, after they were replaced (when we had very high end C kites the next 5 years) and his 7.5 was used when we were on 9 and 10m2, and the 9.5 used when we were all on 12 or even 13m2, so they got massive power compared to newer C kites, although they have got a bit more grunt now too

I had the AR5 5.5 and 9.5, awesome kites back then.

I remember later having the 11.5 we could go in almost "nothing" on the surfboards, and some had the 13.5 which was a pure light wind machine - so the 15.5 must have been a pull truck ?

Serious High AR ; and appears to have a Tun of camber sewn
into the sail .

And just for the sake of nostalgia ; i'm gonna give the 9.5 kite
a try with my Ozone bar. Probably go to the park to tune it in
glass evening air of 5-8mph. If it flies, then off to Mohave i'LL go
with her !!

I'm "Hoping" this will be Fun ; care to guess how much wind it'll take
to pull my 200Lb with the 9.5 ?

To complete the experience, one should of course be inflating the kite with the blue pump shown here, this was the standard issue back then - 15-20 minutes to inflate a 15.0, not so sure they were good old days.....

Brian, it were the good all days! My right hand was never stronger...

In this 2004 picture, it was me on one of the first released Rhino05 in 14m size (...hoooo the 5th line !!! ) and a friend of mine still in love with his 9.3m Rhino01 going at the speed and upwind angle. He was just complaining a little problem whit the depower.

Some boards from the same era - pic was dated 01/01/2000. Various directionals which were standard issue at the time with TT's just coming on the scene.
TT's include AHD and Wipika production boards along with local Kitesurfer and Cape Dr latest picklefork 'wakestyle" designs.

Those were the days, I had 9,7,5m AR 3.5's and a 7' sky pirate naish board, no instructions, no magazines, no videos just find out yourself. Took me from sept 99 til late 2000 to turn round and keep ground upwind.

Once you were hooked in to those suckers you went where they did.
