Self Launching Naish Kites -- Not Recommended? (in the 2014 manual, and not the 2013 manual)

I originally posted this question here on talksurf.com

Thanks!

I do it all the time... It's like relaunching from water with a little added abrasion. If you don't use your kite it will last forever. Although I'm sure the manual says everything is dangerous.

I don't own Naish kites but I would assume that is based on a liability issue. You can self launch any kite its just safer to have an assisted launch.

I think, as the others imply, it is simply a liability issue, to be on the safe side.

Just like all the warnings "This is not a toy, can be dangerous" etc etc written all over everything nowadays

Naish kites can be self launched just as good/bad as any other kitebrand :thumb:

Its probably not recommended because some people fuck up when they do...so like mentioned above its a liability issue more so than anything else (I'm guessing).

I've never had an incident self launching in a variety of different ways.
