Cabrinha Kite Surf Pro Maui Kicks Off In One Week
Wailuku, Maui, HI – November 15, 2013: The clock is ticking down to this year’s Kite Surf World Championships, set to take place at Ho’okipa Beach Park from November 22 to December 1, 2013. The Cabrinha Kite Surf Pro will see the world’s top male and female kite surfers compete for the highly coveted World Championship title at one of the sport’s most exciting and iconic venues.
As announced on October 28, 2013, Cabrinha Kites came on board in a big way by signing on as the title sponsor of the World Championship event. The Cabrinha brand is rooted in surfing culture and from it’s early beginnings on Maui has grown to become one of the kite industry’s largest global players. ION the official KSP World Tour outfitter continues their international support of the KSP World Tour with their sponsorship role in the Cabrinha Kite Surf Pro.
The County of Maui and the Mayor’s office of Economic Development, a major local supporter of the event, announced a $10,000 Challenge Grant in October, encouraging local businesses to support the World Championship event. As one of the first local businesses to sign on in support of the Cabrinha Kite Surf Pro, HEVN, the Hawaiian Electric Vehicle Network is a great partner for an eco friendly event and with the Maui Solar Project yet another company has come on board that is totally in line with kite surfing’s environmentally conscious outlook. Both HEVN and MSP will help to make Maui as green and clean as kiteboarding has been from the beginning.
Xensr, makers of the world’s first wearable motion capture device will not only host the Xensr Big Air Invitational during the World championship event, but will also operate the live webcast of all the action during the Cabrinha Kite Surf Pro at Ho’okipa to make sure kite surf fans from all around the world can follow the action as it unfolds on Maui’s shores.
