Alaia magic

Postby patrickrynne » Wed Jul 03, 2013 5:14 pm

Had an awesome session out with the Martha's Vineyard crew. Pretty blown away by the variety of spots they have out there! Here is rad moment from a single reach down the beach. I reckon I could have gone for 10 minutes without stopping!

Nice ride Patrick. Where is that? Did you kite back upwind? Looks like a great time.

This is on the south side of Martha's Vineyard. There is a long barrier island that is pretty narrow. On the leeward side you get butter flat water, on the windward side you get waves. Takes a minute to walk back and forth between the two sides, so its about as ideal as it gets.

I was going on a broad reach here so when I turned around I was able to kite all the way back on one tack. Wind was out of the SW i believe.

That looked like so much fun! Great approach, nice to see something a little different.
Place does look very sweet! How cold is the water in the summer?

love that..

angle fine for getting back to spot a?

I ride somewhere like this (downwind of sandbar) and find you can absolutely rock upwind with shallow flat water downwind of a sand bar - i guessed the water pushes back off the bottom... not sure..
