Been flying the Core a bit more and am falling in love with this kite.

I did the leukemia cup regatta Saturday. This was a 11 mile down winder, and wind was almost straight sideshore, so it took a while, but I was the only one who finished because the wind was too light and no one else could get going. I used the Core 19 and a 2011 cabrinha race board. At the end I grabbed a twin tip and pulled out a double backroll kite loop while everyone one else who tried to ride could barely hold their ground. Here is a screenshot of the wind that day. The started trying to ride around 12 and I finished around 3.

I like to Core 19m, awesome kite... but if you're looking for doing more than just "mowing the grass" in very lightwind conditions and actually want to have a 'looping' good freestyle or surf session, the Blade Fat Lady (17m) is the clear winner. The low-end is incredible on the FL and more importantly, the quick/responsive handling of the FL design, IMO, remains unmatched. You all should try one!

... hey OceanAdventures, nice review.

Did you notice if the Core backstalls when bar is all the way in, in the really light winds that is? I own the XR17m and it used to get heavy steering (ie starting to stall) when the bar was all the way in, mostly when kiting at the bottom end of its range.

cheers,

Robbie :)

Not really, I mean any kite is going to stall in super light winds.

I have noticed if your just flying the kite and not riding it does require a little more attention as it likes to surge and stall in the light wind ups and downs, not as stable as the Turbine, but riding I haven't had a problem.

Definitely as I have have been flying it more, the Turbine does have more power, but still have more fun as the wind picks up with the Core.
