Dude was right
well, they really are slightly different, but they are functioning pretty much the same way.
i'm not a knot wizard, but i think the Best OSR knot pictured here is either mistakenly tied wrong way or we have some bowline knot variation.
they both don't tighten the loop.
i tested both of them at home and it seems like this Best OSR knot is easier to undo, which is not necessarily a good thing.

but there are real bowline knots on the original core bar photo (by aetos1986).

Has someone changed the original straps adjuster to any modern cleat? Can you share the instruction step-by-step please? What accessories in addition to a cleat are need? Is it obligatory to replace a chicken loop or the original one may be used?
