Nope not the monk forever on flat water. Better off on a street or super shinn much better feedback, squarer tips and less flex to give you that control and load potential. The monk is superb riding flat out and boosting off a wave platform not on the flat the feedback is not enough.
Not saying you can't on the monk but there are better boards even in the shinn range. That is not its design profile nor my experience on it and others as you may find out if you do your research.
I will let others give their opinion on the right board but it is not the monk.
