The PKRA/IKA Freestyle Junior World championships will be held in San Pere Pescador, Costa Brava at the Camping la Ballena Alegre July 2-7, 2013. It will be the first event of this type in the history of the PKRA. Many of the top pros will come out and do demos for the young rippers. The winners of each category will be a Junior world champion.

This is a great opportunity for young riders from all over the world to become a junior world champion and learn how to compete at the top level on the PKRA.

The Divisions:

Boys 8-11 years old
Boys 12-14 years old
Boys 15-16 years old

Girls 8-13 years old
Girls 14-16 years old

How will the competition be run?

An expression session will be done with all the JR’s of each group and the judges will evaluate them to do a provisional ranking to separate the best riders. This is done so that the best riders do not meet early in the competition and are placed on opposite sides of the ladder.

The competition will be based on the PKRA freestyle judging criteria’s and the winners will be chosen by official PKRA judges that work on the world tour. The rankings in the heats will be chosen by overall impression. This means that the winner of the heat will be the riders that can do the most technical tricks with power, style and a clean execution.

When we get closer to the final we will switch over to electronic judging that is done like on the PKRA world tour, where points are given for the maneuvers so that riders can see how they did for each maneuver and how they can get better scores.
