I think everybody should make their own topic to kiteforum with familiar identifier called "joriws-the-suppreme-kiter last visit to KF.com" and with every visit you should reply to that topic to make it pop up to top of thread list. Then just browse list on the right until you see your own topic. Reply it and done, you have moving indicator of new messages since your last visit.

I know it would make havoc to the front page but....

I like it how it is, re minds me of when I had a PC and a 14" monitor.

I agree with dates on right hand side so that it is easier to follow threads.
