apply silicone oil or grease (even better) on zips, helps a lot. Also works as plastic/rubber maintenance and makes them water repellent for a short period.

I vote against wd40 near plastic/rubber as it can weaken the materials (especially kite canopy)

Vinegar works but eventually the zipper falls apart because of corrosion.

Search ebay for "instant zipper".

The simple solution is: Buy Ozone kite bags. The zippers are 100% plastic (metal free), so no corrosion can happen.
Even though they´re plastic, my impression so far is that they´re built very solid.

Or BRM & also Switch Kite bags, no zip - just pull string.

But kite bags is just one of the things with issues, but actually not that bad...

As most often they DONT get stuck, as they are used now and then, and many will offer some that dont get stuck that easy :thumb:

But bags and clothing - kamera bags, board bags, tool bags, overall both legs and chest, jackets etc etc - they will all suffer from this eventually it seems

Be very careful to NOT breath that stuff when Ya apply it ; it's Really BAD for your lungs !!

I like silicone because it doesn't attract dirt when dry !! :thumb:

OR
go to a sewing supply shop ; and buy those plastic zipper ends , and replace them yourself, on the
bags that need them.

Did anybody try TEF-GEL?
I red in the hydrofoil forum that it does wonders for the foil bolts, maybe it can be used for the zippers too, ?

I had a very salted up board bag zipper - just as bad, if not worse than anything in the previous pics - I used boiling water & lots of it over 30 minutes (used it from the kitchen boiling water tap). In the past I've tried WD40, oil, long nosed pliers, meths - but boiling water & patience worked perfectly. But if you want to avoid the problem, cut the zips out and sew in velcro

It makes sense to you , but i'll need you to explain it to me though ; what's that
got to do with a stuck zipper ?
