Another RyanAir Robbery

A reminder to anyone thinking of traveling with RyanAir Robbers...
My gf Just booked us flights to Malaga, Spain from Liverpool, UK. Flights were only £70 but one sports bag up to £20Kg is an extra £100.
That's the most expensive cost for a sports bag I've paid on any flight anywhere in the world.
How can it cost more to put 20Kg in the hold than it costs to put 75Kg on a seat???

that makes you mad? then you are probably furious about the prices on kites and boards too?
i'm sure ryanair has perfectly good explanation. planes cost millions of £ and they are not made of plastic soda bottles, fuel is getting more expensive every day, and so on...
really, how can a bar, a stick with the four strings on it cost 500$? robbery everywhere...

Ryanair is the worst airline for sports bags ever! On their German Website they even advise you not to fly with sports equipment.
How dare they to advise me on what to do while on vacation! Thats why I stopped using them for all my business flights as well.

I read the title and thought "Oh what a surprise."
I do not fly Ryanair because they treat their customers with utter contempt.

skyte...like everybody else, Ryanair is always my last choice. I only fly them when they're the cheapest. Nobody offered BA at the same price chooses them.
But....the fact that it costs £100 for a sports bag is the reason why you're only paying £70 for the flight compared with a good airline...no, it doesn't cost more to the airline than flying a 75 kg passenger, but if everybody takes on 20 kg, then they can't afford to charge you £70 for the flight. Charging egregious fees for everything is HOW they can offer cheap flights.
Think you're looking at it the wrong way round. But to be clear, I hate them too.

Why would you expect first class service from a discount airline

I think they are pretty clear on their charges. I mean I flew Oslo - London - Rome and back for a $1 per leg...I knew to not pack heavy.
The stuff that gets me is when it is random, or when we have to pay, but other random sports packs does not...
I would obviously not use them with a golfbag.

skyte...
I am afraid it might happen
that you got furious even more....
did you have a chance to weigh your wheeled quiver with e.g. 2 kites , bars, pump, harness , board, wetsuit whatever else ?
imho despite the fact price is quite high , the limit ( up to 20 kg) is ridiculous , I was not able to fit anyhow
so even if fully paid, you actually never know what will be the interpretation of '20 kg rule' behind the counter
that's what irritates me most while rare crusing with RA.....
