Vader vs Vanguard I like both for different conditions. I have 2 Vanguards sizes and one Vader. Love the Vader but if I had to choose just one board for our local conditions it would be a Vanguard.

Too bad indeed if only for our sake ;)
What conditions do you mainly ride? Vader 5'3 is comparable to Vanguard 5'4 so you had a size too small.

Once I can compare quad & thruster on my 5'2 Vanguard i'll report back. From this thread I gather there's no uniform answer/preference

Thinking about picking up a 5'3" Vader. Am riding a 5'2" Vanguard but want something a little snappier and a little bigger. I feel the Vanguard is slightly small for me at 200 lbs. Or should I just wait until the summer to pick up an Evo on FST construction?

Which do you want, snappier or bigger? They are opposites

usually, if you re just talking about the same shape as bigger
but these are different shapes and yes
the bigger Vader is snappier than the smaller Vanguard, to me. YMMV

Absolutely!
I´ve had a 5.2 Vanguard and added a 5.3 Vader. I´m 75 kg / 165 lb.
The larger Vader actually is snappier, more agile and reacts much more sensitive to edging than the smaller Vanguard. Also, turns are much tighter with less effort with the Vader.
The 5.3 Vader feels way, way larger / longer than the 5.2 Vanguard under your feet. It feels as if you could move around on the deck a lot to find various riding positions, whereas on the Vanguard you can ride in any situation in the same position without any movement.
Lowend is comparably worse with the Vader.
Finally, I feel I´ve made the wrong decision, should have chosen the 5.1 Vader instead of the 5.3.

Anyway, I´ll get me that EVO 8)
