I was close to the houses on shore, almost no wind and downwind current.

Well, that must be a very handsome surf kite if it can't be launched in 11/15 knots.
I thought you can launch (and kite) Epic kites in 2 knots?
Uhm, that sound like a comment a 12 years old would make....... :lame1:

Personally I love 15 meters but the SURF will come with an extra set of 18 meter lines. The RENEGADES are the ones that come with an extra set of 15 meter lines.
This is still a prototype, we have few more prototypes coming in with very small bridles. Also one of them won't have any bridles. In few words we still have some work to do but we are very close.
How did the 12 meter SURF turned by the way, was it enough wind to test its turning speed???
If I did not have 12 meter written on the wing tips of the kite what do you think its size would of been with out knowing it was a 12? The reason I am asking this is because people that have demo the kite due beleive it has more power then what a 12 meter should have.
I was using 22m lines.
I think it is a great idea to add a 18m set of lines for the waves and stronger wind. The 15m are great but maybe not as accessible for the common kiter as it require a bit more skills to really enjoy such short lines.

I haven t riding big kites for a while but it did feel more powerful than a 12m kite.
With the wind condition I had, I was originaly thinking about inflating the Renegade 13V3 or the Infinity.

Then the wind picked up in the evening to enjoy an othe epic sunset session!!!

SURF 8 & 12 for the waves. RENEGADE 6.5 and 9 for all around kiting. And some times I use my son's JUNIOR PRO 4 when it blows 45+ for the waves.

These pictures are from today on the SURF 8 (3) prototype. It was blowing side off shore and very gusty. I was very impressed with the performance of this 3rd prototype. It would just stay there while you were going down the line and absorb all the gust with no problem. For sure I was way over powered but I was able to at least have some fun while most other kiters where on 6 meter kite.

Would love to try that kite out! The windy season has finally started here in Bali, although 2 months late.

Video footage with someone actually riding a wave would be a bare minimum I would say! Those pictures show nothing of its flying characteristics.

EastCC,
Momi and I are working on different ideas concerning the pulleys and the briddles. I want the SURF kite to be able to relaunch very fast, turn very fast and be stable. So if it works better with out the pulleys and the briddles then we won't use these. But we are still testing all these ideas.

jeroenbali,
I need to make sure the kite is 100% ready before I let people demoing them especially if I have to send the kite some where. I love Bali.
