That kite puts me on lots of waves. I'm sure anyone who surfs with a kite will like it.

Has anyone dropped this kite in the surf and had a good size wave take it? I am wondering how well those narrow struts would hold up.

Here is your answer Mr. boardjockey
As you will see in the video, I did not stop crashing the kite in the waves. Few of the riders that were kiting around me thought I was done.

I rolled mine in a chest high wave, so not big surf but it did survive fine and relaunched. After what Dimitri has put these kites through though with testing, I believe it will survive a wave as good as any kite could.

Just to note the amount of bar throw I have is plenty on the Epic bar, just use the new bar and you will see. I can be depowered and still have plenty left to go. Also, the way the Surf Kite works it will power down enough when you want it to. Try it and you will see.

Did an ocean down winder today, nice waves, it was fun. I wanted to mention some amazing customer service I witnessed.

On the way down wind I saw Dimitri come out on his Surf Kite, soon after one of my friends broke his depower line and the kite came down. Dimitri stopped to help him and then gave away his kite so my friend could finish the down winder. He also said he would pack up the other gear and get in contact later.

That is almost like a roadside assistance program when you buy a car.

Anyway, I just thought that was great to give up his session to help.

    I can believe you witnessed this. Yes I felt bad for him especially for the long down winder he was doing. I hope I did not miss anything?

This video is about kiters testing the SURF kite. Let's see what they have to say about this kite.
