That's awesome, what was the wind speed?

I live in the bay, so maybe after I get some experience, I could come out there too.

How much do those boards cost? Asking knowing that I can't afford it :)

When I bought mine (also the MHL Lift) it was about $1200 for the foil only and then I just strapped it onto a really solid board (old North Race 2010 worked good). It was really worth this, as it does so much more and gives so much more wind range than a light wind kite for more than that amount. Generally though the foils retail for about 1200 Euro and the high performance ones even more.

You can check out all the manufacturers that I know of here: http://kitehydrofoil.com/index.php/equi ... o-buy.html

I like your strapless take off. I think I've only done it one like that, normally I tilt the board on its side and then take off out the water when I go strapless.

There is stilll so much I want to learn, like jibing and switching feet while the board is in the air foiling, and then doing a tack and switching feet with the board up. I only know of one guy that has done a tack with the board foiling (check at 1:10 about):

The strapped tack "full foiling" is great !

(or take a look at Gunnar, he does it really good)

Maybe more difficult than without straps (just like a strapless waveboard tack is much easier).

Awesome Christoff :thumb:
