Hey fellows! I'll be extending a work trip for a few days and intend to visit Paris for the first time. And, as a kite addicted, I'd love to kitesurf in France. If it is close to Paris, it would be better, but as far as I could notice, any spot would require plane or train to get to.
I'll probably be there by end of May, or beginning of June.
Thanks a lot!

Thanks, Europ2! Hopefully, I can get something from Google translator, as my French is too weak!

I've lived in Geneva - don't know of anything close to Paris. Switzerland and Italy have well known lakes with summer winds (Silvaplana, Garda, ...) but that is a long way.
I would ask around about the coasts. Otherwise, I wouldn't rule out getting on a plane. Discount airlines might get you to somewhere super warm and windy for very low cost since you're before the main vacation season. I once got a round trip to the Canaries in June for about 100 euros. Leave at 6am and be kiting by noon.

I guess your only chance is to get a Car and drive 2,5hrs to Normandy. Or take a TGV to Marseille, get a car and go to the spots there.

I'm french and live near Marseille. I also used to live near Lille (north of France) and Brest (Brittany). How long will you stay here?

There are lots of good spots all the way from Fecamp to Le Havre (and also all the way along the coast further west but these are close), which is only 100 miles from Paris.
To find the exact ones, and whether waves or flat, I would ask on the flysurfer forum, as you can just write in English and there will be many who can and will answer I think
But of course, if some local can give you a few of the "obvious" ones in that area, in different wind directions, here, it would be great
I assume you ride TT, as it is normally only those riding waves that write about/ask about waves - most TT riders forget this when asking for spots...

I used to live in Brussels and would drive over to Wissant in France, just west of the chunnel entrance. Lots of guys from Paris there. Windy, with exposure to the Atlantice rather than the North Sea. Nice wave riding too.

Check the spot selector from the Paris Kitesurf Association (AKIF)
http://akifkite.fr/phpBB3/lc4_spot.php#
Click on the "kite" to select a spot, then click on "Détail du spot: xxxxx"
Hope this help
