I have ridden RRD obsessions for a few years now and love the speed and fast snappy power..
Currently have the 2009 12m, 2012 10.5m and 2011 9m...
I weight 82kg ride a 134cm board. Now I really like the 2009 12m but am thinking or upgrading to 2012. The short time I rode my 10.5m 2012 it struck me they are slower and less grunty than the 2009 but jump and float better. My concern is - is the 2012 obsession 12m really good low end like the 2009 and does it turn almost as fast ??
thanks

i have à 2010 obsession 9m. it's the best kite I've ever owned in the 11 years I have been kiting.
was out today and the low end and speed is amazing. I will ride this kite until it falls apart.

yes the 2009 and 2010 were essentially the same kite with colour changes... the 2011 is when it changed more,
anyone riding the 2012 12m ??

I ride the 2012 RRD Obsession 12m. its a pretty fast kite considering its size. I love this kite, wouldnt trade it for anything. huge boost and hangtime, medium bar pressure. unhooking in this thing is great. I highly recommend it.

I own the 2010 obsession 10.5m, it has a good windrange, but ugh, I am so glad I bought a new kite, because this kite has bad construction and I don't like the light bar pressure and the quality of the lines. Anyways I had a great time with this kite, my first kite, but I am mostly influenced by the fact that the strut on the far right had a huge leak (I think it is in the connection from this strut to the main bladder).
Did they improve the quality of the kite in the 2011 and 2012 models?

The Obsessions have steadily been getting more power year over year. I'm now riding a 7 in conditions where I used to ride 9s.
There is an adjustment in feel to the from the 2009 and 10 obesssions to the 2012, but I feel the speed is in the same ballpark.
