could someone please explain how do this "single" then "doubles" thing work?

You have to loose twice to be out. So in the double you stary from behind and the winner of the single sits and wait to see who will go to the second final ?

It is actually all a double elimination tournament
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double-eli ... tournament
It is called singles and doubles, because it is separated so you can finish a standard single tournament in case of no wind.

Double elimination is awesome. Single elimination is utterly shit for nearly everyone as theoretically you could be 3rd best rider but still lose in first round and be out.
Great riding Marc Jacobs and Alex Pastor.

No, on the live stream he said he doesn't have plans to ride in all the events because of prior commitments.
