Now you've finally clarified it.
To increase throw, you increase the depower line length along with steering line lengths.
While it aint rocket science, it is all rather confusing until you lay it all out and attempt it yourself.

Attempting the mod on the slingy wasn't good for me because half the depower line is thicker on the bottom and did not allow the line to be inserted into the vario cleat as low as I would prefer - subsequently its a limiting factor on the depower length. Not sure where you would get longer thick spectra but certainly not at the local hardware store so I just abandoned the project for now...

Depowering is not that difficult on the below the bar systems, you just have to get the tension off the center lines. For my LF bars, it helps to move the stopper down (away from the pulley), ride downwind or squat (if on land) and on the way up just pull down and away, just pulling down runs it through the cleat which makes it more difficult. I noticed that if you have the stopper ball right against the pulley it is difficult to pull initially, which is why you just need to move it down an inch or two.

Its just a different way to depowering the kite, just like relaunching kites, every one has a different methodology to get it launched.

I've primarily used below the bar depower and I find it easy. What I don't like about the CPR below the bar depower is its location. The center location makes for some awkward adjustments. Naturally, you want to pull out to the side but the CPR requires that you pull it straight back into your gut. I also think the large black pointy piece that protrudes from the top of the chicken loop hinders its performance.

LF will need to get away from all plastic releases. I can see my CPRs are getting all worn down...I would suspect that eventually the tongue and groove system will fail once everything gets worn....the Slingy and North metal hinges are top notch....the cab release seems to have the best ergonomic trigger....its easy to grab...the LF and Slingy are a little too streamlined for me...nothings perfect..

i hook my CL upside down.
i find it easier to depower and power because you can pull down more instead of up.
and when you using the 90% depower it all bungee's underneath the bar.
plus the end of the depowerline can not jam in your CL when on 100% depower.
try it and tell me what you think.
i've been riding like all the time.

Yeah me too, I always thought it was weird when people put the depower line on top so it dangles everywhere. Much harder to get leverage as well. And like you said, when using the 90% depower you don't have the leash flopping around on top of the loop

Yeah I had the same issue where some serious gusts came in and i just could not depower the kite, you end up trying to pull with limited space from your shoulder instead of using your reach and pulling with your bicep and shoulder. I too had to park the kite at 12 , depower, then go again , by which time the gusts had passed.

I'll try the mods, thanks for the tips.

will definitely try this. I doubt LF will recommend this as a solution , but I will try it, Thanks

Well.. here's a picture of the designer of the kites with it "the right way"
