When is windy season? Thinking of going the last week of May and wandering what the wind will be like.

there is no windy season in La Manga, I think that around April and October can be a bit windier.

In general, you do not have many windy days in that area, it can happen that there is no good wind for weeks, if you get more than 2 windy days in a week you are very lucky. And there are many days with wind between 8 to 11 knots, so better you take your biggest kite.

You could also consider driving down to Almeria, around 80 to 100 kms.

It's not a windy place. I visit that area every year, rarely get to kite, pot luck if there's wind.

Sea breeze is quite consistent but its not very strong, ok for learning and lightweight riders mowing the grass.

I went to Redbull Kitepunks there a few years ago, no wind, probably why it was never held there again.

Yeap, i visited in June a couple of years back. Wind most days but very very light. I'd need my 17 which i have now. If your 50kg and have a 13m kite you might be ok, if not then fat skim board and monster kite is needed.

Awesome spot though! Shame its not that windy. One of the kite centres has a rewally nice restaurant on the beach and good shop. Easy to find.

Hi! the windy season goes from march to june, our wind is thermical so even if windguru sais 7 knows SW well have 15 or more. This year we have kited 3 or 4 days per week. If windguru marks 17knots NE there will be 3 knots less.
Like its not an aera that we have trade winds or any other form of steady day to day wind we have to move a little. But of there no wind in La Manga and you have a car 1 hour north or south will be windy somewhere.
If you need any other help let me know. Diego

I'm planning on flying into Murcia at the beginning of April and am contemplating bringing a 10m kite. Travelling with a board will bump up the price of my air ticket considerably. I am sorted with accomodation and transport to Mar Menor/La Manga but would be interested to hear from anybody who:
a) Has any experience of the area?
b) Knows www.maskite.com and whether they have second hand boards or rental?
Thanks in advance
