I had the SB 2010 , 2011 , 2012 and i have tested the 2013 and i can say that the 2012 SB is the best SB of all years.
2012 SB compare to 2010-2011 ,2012SB have a bit of less bar pressure , 2012 is a bit more stable in the air compare to all SB models included the 2013
The depower rope is longer on 2012 SB's so the range is bit wider as well and on the 2012 there is an option for ''wakestyle'' setting which i like.
I found the power delivered smoother on the 2012 SB especially unhooked

On 2012 SB self landing is easier because the bridles are closer to the wingtips

Now iam riding on Blade Triggers 2013 and absolutely love these kite

Again, thanks everyone. I don't know if that helped much, but I am going to try to ride them first. Seems like whatever I choose, they are all good kites.

Also seems like there is a lot of personal preferences out there, but no solid "XXX IS A BETTER KITE!" I am a fan of having a different kite, but I am not willing to have a different kite only for the sake of it being different. Not sure if buying the obsession would be different for the sake of being different.

Thanks again. I'll post what I go with, as long as I don't get judged for my decision.

I have been flying SB since 2007. My feelings are the SB's had been improving since the 2009 every year. I will agree that the 2012 SB was a great kite and it took me a few sessions to like the 2013. Once I realized it didnt fly out of the box on the middle knott and actually had to tune the kite to my liking the enjoyment started. The 2013 while missing that grunty low end and flying a bit smaller overall than the 2012 had raised concerns for me. After a few more sessions on the 2013 SB, I have started to fall for the benifits of reduced bar and faster kite. I disagree with the above post as I find the 2013 to be smoother if take into consideration its faster. I have been flying 2013 10m and comparing it to my 2012 12m kites. Even thought the 2012 was a great overall kite with the low end, Im looking forward to upgrade to the lighter bar, and faster kite in the 2013. HOpe this helps

The landing line on my SB 2012 works every time and makes landing very easy. Putting it back together becomes easier after you have done it a few times and figure out what works for you.
