forget your short wetsuit. You will never use it. It is waay too hot!
You will never use your 6m or 9m kites. Only bring the 11m.

In order to get the 53 days of kiting during the 91 days of summer here
that was stated in an earlier post, you will need to bake on the beach
from 12pm till 7pm. Watch for any potential storms coming nearby
and be rigged up before it hits. Generally you can get a good 15-20
minutes of riding on an 11m a little more than half the days of summer
here in FL if you just wait on the beach all day waiting for a thunderstorm
to hit. Many people do it. But you do have to be at the beach and ready
before the thunderstorm hits because they are soo quick to move by.

the only places to kite are at matheson hammocks and a very few others...

I find that most storms bring wind with west in it, so to kite storm wind during the summer in Miami is pretty rare.

eh, that's not really the issue. Yeah, there is some west wind, but there's also some really song east wind. During the storms it's really up and down, it might be great for 5 minutes, then it completely dies off, goes straight offshore, or starts nuking 40 knots plus. You really just have no idea what it's going to do.

I've ridden in a few of the storms during summer just to get some kiting in and save myself from going insane, but it's really not worth it

Well, if you are sitting on the beach in miami waiting for a summer storm (not hurricane wind), and decide to launch your kite with wind from this storm, you are insane.

It will probably be your inexperience that could get you in a shitload of trouble.

Thanks, I think that I am just going to carry my 11m kite and harness and I might kite some day with thermal winds with a rental or secondhand board better than waste money checking all the gear for nothing. I prefer not to risk with winds and spots that I am not used to...Here in Spain we use 5 or 6m kites with up to 40 or 45knots (even I saw a guy with 50-55 knots in Tenerife, Canary Ilands, with a 4m kite) but the wind is not gusty and of course the direcction keeps constant.
