2013 Envy bridle mod

Postby posty » Tue Jun 04, 2013 7:06 pm

Anyone tried to mod their bridle?

The end at the wingtip is mostly slack which gives a slow input imo.
I heard there must be something on you tube somewhere to make it faster but i can't find it.
I will try it myself but maybe someone already did.

Which knots do you fly it on? I feel like this year's Envy is very responsive, but I almost always fly it on the "lightwind" knot. Lots of people seem to like to fly their kites only on the knots farthest away from the kite, and as soon as you depower it becomes fairly unresponsive (because you are basically all the way depowered).

I second the LW setting recommendation; my 15 Envy for sure responds better to steering input when sheeted in. It's a dog trying to initiate a turn with the kite depowered.

Alright! I shortened the bridle connected on the outside of the wingtip and what a difference.
No more slack in the line.
The canopy doesn't flutter anymore and now it steers direct.
It flies completely different. That's the way i like it!
I only tried it on the 10.5 but when the wind is slow will try it on the 12 too.
All i did was attaching the bridle behind the light wind setup knot.
Had my best session so far on this kite.
