It takes FCS fins.
Slingshot was using Mini Tuttles in 2011 and went to the DFS fin box to make their boards compatible with every FCS fin you can get in every surf shop in the world, which is good.
I actually like the design of the Mini Tuttle finbox connection better, but what do I know.

Not sure of weight, but it feels like the weight of a short surfboard, not a tank like a SkimFish or something like that.
Mine came in last night! 2012 5'4".

If you do a google search, the 2013 is available for $429 from several stores.

2012 is 5'4" only. 2013 is 4'6", 5'0", or 5'4".

It's a lot lighter than I thought it would be. I had held one of those skimfishes in a shop and thought it was very heavy. This was awhile back, but the SP seems much lighter. Can't wait to get it on the water.

I purchased a 2012, display with no fins.
I took it as is because it sounds like I would have changed fins anyway.
Now I need recomendations for fins please.
I won't get it for a couple of weeks, I'm picking it up to save shipping.

I have them at a better price than that.

Post those numbers and generate some business!
I am sending people to Slingshot, because I did not know you could deliver for less than $329.
I thought I asked you numbers before I bought mine, my mistake.

Don't know what conversion from CDN to US$ is these days, or how much shipping is.

Conversion chart says $313.65 USD for the 2013.
Great price!!
Slingshot wants $499
I would have bought the 2013 for that price, just to have the newer model year.
I do still like the 2012 color better though.
This is a steal for that board.

Even has the same double concave spine on the bottom. :o Looks also like they missed it on the correct fins for that board. Due to the wide thumbnail tail, the larger keel type fins seem to work best for that shape(ex. Futures quad "Controller" fins).
@Captain: Believe it our not, it's the fins that make surfboards efficient in light wind. You need to ride your surfboard different that your TT. More weight forward, less edge/more flattened, and kite lower. Fins make all the difference when riding in light wind(ie, race boards).
Oh yeah, I completely get that. I had the SP out yesterday and when I got up to speed the fins begin to "fly" and it motored! No way it could compete with a raceboard, though, and I think size for size a skim board with tiny (or no) fins is going to go earlier. Whatever...may just be me.

You're right, though, it's all about the fins.

On the other knockoff comments...I don't know...it's shaped like a mini-space pickle and beyond that I don't think anyone patented concave in the tail. Seems to me lots of boards have that. BUT, I definitely grabbed it cause it was similar to the nugget...and love it! so, wherever logosz got his inspiration from...it's a nice board. :thumb:

Thanks, ibloc, though, good reminder to ride the board different than a TT. It's a different game for sure and i appreciate the tips, particularly where to fly your kite on a surf vs. tt setup.

No, not on 2012 model.
