Tips for getting fins out of surfboard - Vaseline?

I have this North Whip and I needed to remove the fins for taking up less space in the rooftop carrier and I could barely get them out. They're definitely a tight fit which is good (I think). Any ideas for getting them out next time? I was thinking about putting some Vaseline on their bases?

Maybe try some marine dry lube.

Yeah, putting oils or petroleum products like Vaseline will degrade the plastic. Lithium, graphite or silicone lubricants are the thing to use here. If you have some lube for your pump, that should do the trick.
