I've also just started kiting (2months)
I wakeboarder for 5 years but this buzz is the shit. My mate told me you'll change. He told me you'll find yourself driving along, looking at the tree tops for wind etc.. Which I now do. He told me you'll have kitemeres when learning but not to give up,which I had & his words stuck now I'm in to the fun stuff.
Anyway my best buzz on this kook stage was last week. I've been able to get air but always crash my kite on landing. So last week I was out kiting, had my new gopro strapped on to my helmet. Was motoring along on a nice edge then threw the kite to 12 and it sent me....I locked my backhand on the heal edge and held this stalefish for what seemed like an eternity. (Anyone whos wakeboarded knows that a 2 second grab is tasty) but this kite buzz with 10 second plus air play time is something different. Then after steezing it out I landing beautifully & carried on riding
WHAT A BUZZ.
One thing I haven't experienced is riding on butter.. I'm guessing there must be flat spots with good wind? Unfortunately we're in winter in New Zealand but that's cool, ill ride through the shit then come summer I won't be a kook
