everyone is asking about the microhook here's my version



buy some U aluminum, round off corners, drill holes for chicken line, flag out safety, and bolt holes to attach chicken line. For the loop on the bar, drill a couple holes feed through some line and tubing. It prolly should have some PU tubing to keep the microhook in place

I assume it is not that fast in and out like the original ML from North, but similar.

it works exactly the same as north push down to hook in push down to unhook. I'm sure it can be made better, but this one works for me.

sure, same function. the question is, how fast it goes in and out. And if your thumb has to help etc.
A video would be cool.

The Spinlock could be an option for a stopper, but the stopper is not as good as the ML.

But I am sure there could be an easy solution...a small loop to attach with velcro so no holes are needed (weakening the breakload on the bar) and a hook on the depower rope just above the QR.

That last version snapped, so I made a new one, just cut out a few holes and a hook in some 1/4 inch aluminum, this version works a lot better.

It's attached to the chicken line so you do have to spin it with your thumb before you hook in, but to unhook, just bring down the bar, the plastic tube bumps against the chicken loop and dislodges it.

That looks very week, thin aluminium like that has no strength at all, I wouldn't be trusting that to boost big while hooked in, it will end in tears

Any suggestions about doing something like this on a cab bar? Have the hook part nutted out jujst need to drill 2 small holes through the bar for the loop but will it compromise the bar strength? Someone else want to try it and let me know?

For sure it will weaken the bar. Not sure if it will break.

Edt: I see a rotated hook as the biggest problem.
Will be a hassle to always bring that into position before hooking in.

I kind of like it this way. Before I unhook, I turn the microhook away from the loop so I don't accidentally go on a donkey ride if I drop the bar. Does the north bar let you quickly disable the microhook for unhooked riding? Can't really do proper airstyle with the bar this way tho, takes too much time to spin the microhook before you take off.

Ideally you want a microhook you can quickly engage with a simple pull down for big air board pass and also quickly disable to throw a handle pass.
