FoundersKiteClub News:

Business in Boardshorts

• Fantastic kick-off event of FoundersKiteClub in El Gouna, Egypt
• Sixty enthusiastic global entrepreneurs discover networking through extreme sports
• Exclusive and international event series begins

From a Berlin start up entrepreneur to the founder/CEO of an international and multi-billion
dollar company from Spain, 60 entrepreneurs got together at the FoundersKiteClub kick-off event
in El Gouna Egypt from 20th-26th May 2013.
Active Networking is the name of the game with FoundersKiteClub (FKC), who combines
the vastly binding characteristic of kitesurfing with business events, simply Business in
Boardshorts.

“Shared experiences on the water and common kitesurf sessions accomplish a certain
community character at a rate of knots, which ease the exchange of experiences between
the participants. I found that the maximum of networking potential can be much more
exploited on such a dynamic accented and sports-related event”, says co-founder and
CEO Christoph Jost.

At the same time interesting business connections are made, new business partners and
friends are built, in keeping with the FKC motto: We push each other in life and work.
Kitesurfing binds a certain type of people: entrepreneurial, successful, those willing to
take a risk, are adventurous and at the same time have a relaxed and open minded
attitude to life, which proves to be an explosive mix. “As an entrepreneur you have those
characteristics as well. Entrepreneurship and Kitesurfing are based on the same selfconception”,
says Florian Wilken, co-founder who thinks big for FoundersKiteClub.

Within their kitesurf ambitions, the 60 participating entrepreneurs have been strongly
supported by world champions and pro kitesurfers Youri Zoon, who took care of those
intending to improve their unhooked skills, Lewis Crathern, dealing with the jumping and
Kristin, looking after the girls. Moreover the participants were provided with test material
(kites and boards) of the sponsor BEST KITEBOARDING.

Remarkable keynote speeches and open business sessions inspired the participants
for new business ideas and created enough room, in order to discuss central
entrepreneurial problems in selected groups.

The locations for this purpose were as extraordinary as the FoundersKiteClub itself.
Accompanied by a boat and having the wind at their backs at all times, the entrepreneurs
did a 10 km so called kitesurf-downwinder to a remote island.

“Networking happens automatically, through direct and personal contact and in a sporty
relaxing atmosphere”, reflects Sebastian Heitmann (BEST Kiteboarding) the feedback of
the event participants.

Other event highlights included the KB4girls special for entrepreneurial girls, which was
initiated by 9 times kiteboarding world champion Kristin Boese, and was generously
supported by the kitesurfwear label Cheeky & Coco with swimsuits for girls.
An authentic dinner was organised in a villa with a stunning view over El Gouna followed
by the closure party of the event.

Sandra Kunhenn, Project Manager of FoundersKiteClub is convinced that “dynamic
markets require new active business networking bases, especially being influenced by the
character of extreme sports. This concept will for sure establish itself in the future.”
Thus the whole FKC event program is founded with that in mind. For the future,
entrepreneurs can look forward not only to animated keynotes and even more interesting
participation concepts, but also to spectacular event locations and global premium venues
for excellent kitesurfing.

Applications can be sent via www.facebook.com/founderskiteclub or directly on their
webpage www.founderskiteclub.com.

As of now, applications are welcome for the next FKC event in Tarifa (Spain) from
7th-13th October 2013.
