KSP primed for 2013 launch

It was regrettable that the event at Guincho Beach, Portugal had to be officially canceled due to the promoters unable to stage the event due to the economic situation in Portugal. It is hoped that the event will return in 2014.

KSP World Tour manager Terry McKenna explains: “ It’s a real loss to the KSP World Tour, especially after it topped our recent Facebook poll of the MOST wanted venues on tour. Losing events is a common theme for a lot of associations in 2014 as the global economic crisis tightens its grip on sporting sponsorships,” he added.

The first event of the 2013 season is poised to be confirmed any moment with the contracts sitting with government officials waiting to be signed.

All indicators have been positive leading up to this point with the Tourism board backing the contest.

KSP World Tour manager Terry McKenna explains: “ It’s a lengthy process whenever you’re working with any government department, but so far so good” said McKenna.

“ Our promoter in the Canary Islands has had to work extremely hard to get this event to where it is now and it’s in the hands of the government officials waiting to be signed off. We understand that this is very late in the game to be confirming an event but with the volatility of the global economy the way it is KSP had to make some concessions with the deadlines to give the event the best possible chance to happen” he added.
