have north nugget, need another surfboard for quiver.......

Postby coleman » Thu Jun 20, 2013 2:37 am

here is what i am wanting out of a second board....lots of speed, holds edge for long powered turns, needs to be versatile for varying wave conditions. mostly used on texas coast at padre/corpus but will take trips to better locales. i weigh 150lbs/68kg and am 5'7"

so i have the lightwind option already, now i want something that i can fully carve. so for long, flowing carving with speed that can perform in a variety of conditions what would be best????

looking at:

shinn duke 5'6" or 6'0"
slingshot celeritas 5'6"
airush quad or cypher

thanks for the feedback :thumb:

Coleman:
Hey man, so since you have the Nugget, a lightwind/small messy wave slayer, you want an all around board that will take you from like chest high waves to overhead waves right? May I suggest my personal favorite and the best all around board that I have found, the North WAM 5'8''. I weigh 140 and am 5'9'', I have ridden this board in anything from onshore 3 foot sloppy waves to tropical storm andrea 15+ foot gnarly monster waves, to overhead fast down-the-line offshore winds and overhead waves... The North WAM is THE BOARD that I would take to any kite destination not knowing whether the conditions will be small and messy or huge and gnarly!

Cheers,

Naish Global 5.8 also falls into that category. Very solid construction.

Check out the Stretch Thing, EPS w/cork laminate make it light and strong. I've found production board like the Naish Gobal are beatiful but just to heavy and a bit to gunny IMO. This said if I wanted production today I would get a North board.

Awesome! I actually own a 2012 WAM and have ridden the 2013, not much of a difference, maybe the 2013 just refined a little more. That is a sweet board! You will really enjoy it! Let me know how you like it after your first few rides!
