twin tip board question again

Postby keegster17 » Fri Feb 17, 2023 6:21 pm

Guys just sold my Flysurfer Radical 6 138cm board, it is time for something new. I am 180lbs in all gear, winds at my location typically 13k to 16k on average, so lighter winds. Kite on great lakes so usually choppy water, I like to have one all round twin tip rather than two boards to keep life simple. I loved the Radical 6, comfy, eats chop, easy to handle, great upwind. My only knock I found this board a bit bulky, but I basically freeride, no freestyle tricks, cruising and looking for big air when I can get it. I have been looking at monk X, Maybe another Radical, but newest model Radical 7, Nobile, but not sure what model, Brunotti seems nice but they seem to gear towards freestyle. Any suggestions?

I have used the Radical 7 144 since launch (90kgs) as my standard board. I have other boards big and small and kites of different sizes and can mix and match to get on the water more often. Works for me.

If it feels too bulky but you want the same wind-range, then you might want a board that is a couple cm narrower but with a faster (bit less) rocker.

Has anyone rode Monk X and Radical 6 or 7 and compare the two boards?
