I got some feedback:

The nose line should be slightly slack when the bar is all the way sheeted in. It will be very slack when the bar is sheeted out.

The correct nose line measurement is 470cm. Dyneema lines shrink over time if they are not loaded, and sometimes even if they are loaded. Depends on the load.

10cm of shrinkage seems alot, maybe a few cm's I can understand but exactly 10cm. Oh well!

Anyway, with 10cm added to my nose line now, it is slightly slack with bar all the way in so should be good. Thinking back now, I've never seen the line slack before so I'm sure this has been the cause for my kites to fail.

In the part of the 2012 trust bar manual I referenced, in section 6.1.3, they refer to a section of line called "a". It is a piece tied to the LE of the kite to the ring on the bar. If that is not the nose line, what is that piece of line called?

... the manual doesn't show the nose line, its does show the "5th line" and this line goes all the way from the safety ring under the chicken loop, through the bar, continues through the ring and ends with the "a" referred in manual. This 5th line is then attached the the nose line to complete the whole ""5th line"". A stopper ball under the ring stops the line from pulling through so it doubles as a support for the LE (hence why they call the Rebel/Vegas/Torch a loaded 5th line kite).

You could call the nose line as another bridle that happens to be attached to the center of the LE, only its a simplified bridle with one or some times 2 attachment points.

Just seeing your post now. I Checkt mine. 462 cm (463,5 to LE). Have not checked it in the air, but cannot remember slack in nose line. Will try and add 10cm too.
Also see the wear on the lower zipper.

They where just not made tough enough for oldschool. Mine is falling a part at all places. And Toby is buying them before our noses, surging the internet 24/7. You love him and you hate him. (Toby: Please leave me one, or let me buy and repair one of your old ones )

Any further comment on your experimenting with added 10cm, or you Toby?

I added 5 cm now and I don't really feel a difference, but assume is better for the kites durability.
Need stronger wind though to maybe feel a difference.

Yes, they are very ligh build or light wind racing.
That's why I don't blame North if mine break.

Get an extra patch over the lower zipper part BEFORE it explodes!

I heard in Russia they still have many in stock and will be happy to sell them!

CONFIRM! Here in Russia we have (most) of the Kite Shops "stock" 2011 DYNOs. New\unused ones.

Prices: 16m\18m around 850-950Euro (Kite + bag + pump + repair kits. NO BAR!).

But the shipping might be expensive (well... hardly more than 50-100Euro).
But.. if someone really one a new one - goggle it.

Hee Peutz, did your experimenting get you any wiser?

I found myself another 18. Same problem. BUT i noticed another difference with my old (black) 18. The new gray one has extra stiching along the LE seem. It looks as if the tape has been stiched to the dacron. My old 18 does not have that. And the seem is always opening up along the LE. I hope it is stronger because of it. Did any of you had the same problem (opening up of the seem on le)?

Another question that i have. Which knot do you (and you Toby) use for the barpressure? Low bar pressure also means quicker stearing i think. Thx.
