Although this is not too impressive of a kite adventure to most on this forum, I got out in some 20kt winds with some heavy chop or small waves at First Landing in Virginia yesterday. Heading outbound and jumping the waves was some serious stoke for me. I don't get to kite in these kinds of conditions too often. I guess stoke is relative, but it was a great day for me. :thumb:

Same for me last week, got out in some windier than in my comfort range winds and really had a blast! Jumping waves and trying some small boosting while maintaining control. At times my brain was telling me I'm out of my element but I realized the kite was nicely powered and everything was under control, just have some fun! The shit just keeps getting better. This weekend looks promising and I think I've got the boosting bug. :thumb:

Well guys all good! Wind went southerly and dropped to 20 to 25, which meant is went cross off at our local surf break which can hold a big swell. Reckon I got some of my best left hand waves in 13 years today, could throw the kite all the way over the wave and cutback into the pocket, 5 times in a row on one wave.

Was on a mako 150 with a 8m cat, that thing drifts okay hey.

First time in a long time wish I was on a SB, but got damn close on the mako. Just needed some bigger finnage to really get aggressive with the cutbacks and use the speed.

You know its good when the windsurfers come out! But fuck me their inconsistent speed does my fucken head in!

Empty beach, spotted grey and black, cold for WA standard. Only 10 to 13 knots, no whitecaps, no interest for surfers nor kiters.

Put up the zephyr and on my trusty crazy fly cruiser pro did a solo meditative upwind ride, following the waves in and out, keeping speed on the 5 minute lulls and crankin up the speed when the occasional 14 knots gust came through. Some slow and steady back roll back loops onto some glassy waves...just taking it easy and cruisin around in the ultra smooth flat between the waves. Just working with kite and board, effortless and smooth.

Just a peaceful way to spend the arvo. Not amped (compared to the crazy 5m , 30 knot yesterday) but still just as stoked.

Sweet.

time to revitalize the stoke thread.

In the last 7 days I have had a session on every kite I own.....lots of stoke and sweet sessions on each kite.

Now that doesn't sound that stoke worthy. But I have 5 kites, 15m,13m,10m,8m and 6m.
It typically takes months and months to run through my quiver. Using them all in the same week is pretty cool. it doesn't happen very often.

Just had an awesome afternoon to late evening session.

4 hours on the water absolutely knackered but perfected my right foot forward jumping style. feeling really clean and confident both ways, throwing in some inverts and grabs just like left foot forward.

Shallow water fail messed my hand up a bit and I had to bite the stones out. But hay its a small price to pay for warm summer session on my 14.

At home now, beer in hand, Fajitas for tea and Game of Thrown's season two in the blue ray player.

GAME ON :) :thumb:
