Well done! I never came across a seal (yet). That is on my list still.

So far for me:
Crocs, sharks, turtles (we see them here every day), all sort of jelly fish and the list goes on.
Last year I jumped by accident on one of the turtles. On my way down a turtle emerged and I ran out of steam and landed softly on it's shell. The turtle was as shocked as me and headed down again as quickly as it could.
2 months ago I was bitten by a fish in my lower leg. I leaned at an angle of around 45° against the water going upwind when I felt a sharp pain. I did not see what kind of fish it was.

Cheers

Quite a few seals off the Norfolk coast. They're very inquisitive. It's always cool when they pop up in front of or next to you.

Am always stepping on small fish and jellies in the sand. Regularly get nipped by crabs too....

In fresh water where I kite, there are large Carp everywhere. I'm always walking in the where they are bumping my legs. Also, I hit them every now and then. I have found scales wedged betweeen my fin and board after a session.

All of the above with addition of the dreaded coney island whitefish! This is a regional specific name, but it resides worldwide.

Its nice to hear about all the animal encounters. Please also post where you encounter which animals- its interesting to read.

Some of my more interesting encounters:

Flying fish- Sodwana, South african East Coast- very nice to behold like someone else mentioned

Southern Right Whale with calf- Southern tip of Africa (Struisbaai)- awe inspiring to see the size up close!

Sun fish- Misty Cliffs near Cape Town- the size and outline looks just like the front half of a Great White. My heart missed a beat or two!

And my favourite: A shoal of bronze dolphins took a liking to my foilboard and started following me around for a couple of minutes, jumping on all sides and turning to follow as I turn. Totally amazing, I think the people on the side could hear my shouts of joy. They swim in right under the foil and I just wanted to slow down the whole time to avoid hitting them but they are too agile for that. Location- near dolphin beach, Cape Town.

Fish, birds, sealions, dolphins and just once a whale. Seeing the whale was an amazing experience.
