It clicked and I always double check if the mechanism is closed. I was riding more than an hour before it unclipped so I guess that it was no "user error".
I'm not sure about "hammering it back" as multiple bends could weaken the material so next time it could break. Maybie its OK to do it but I don't want the same scenario happening again.
The main problem is not the bended pin (as it was OK before it unclipped), but probably the locking mechanism which let the pin to unclip under heavy load. So no matter if I hammer the pin back if the mechanism will let the clip go again.
Dont hammer it.....
it will be maybe worst...but i got the same clicking harness and i have looped over 40knots many many times!!!!...never had an issue....probably if i had i ll be dead now

Well, for one thing you've been riding for a good while with the pin un-clipped. See, with enough tension on the spreader bar's hook, the pin would stay in even if it is not locked-in 100%. So you might be right - and there's a problem with the locking mechanism, but it's so simple that - given your limited options - it would be silly to simply discard it. Of course - the safest thing would be to replace the whole spreader bar, but for the time being you can just fix it up.
Also, bending a piece of metal in its original shape once doesn't quite qualify for "multiple bends". And like i've said - this is a fairly soft steel, so unless there are some visible cracks - straightening it should not greatly affect its mechanical properties.
At the end it's your call.

i am down with everything posted in this thread so far. breaking gear is unacceptable. the "unique or specific rare situation" or "heavy rider" excuses are just that, excuses, and not ok.
i have never seen a mystic pin bent like that, i was pretty sure those were bomber, and i still have confidence in them (unless something is different about the newest ones) but i have seen many other pieces of cheesy kiteboarding gear fail.
many people are trusting their lives to this stuff, it needs to be build with that in mind. like climbing gear. although many people are relatively low force cruisers and probably dont require high strength gear, many kiters are pushing it and do. gear needs to be built for them.
kite deformation is another thing. some kites can handle way higher load forces than others while maintaining their shape (stability). it is nice to know which ones can and which ones cant, and throw the ones that can't into the "light weight and low force riders only" pile.

I have to take this back as an hour ago got an email from them saying that they contacted Mystic and I will get a replacement clickerbar. Seems that my problem will be solved in a reasonable time.

As i know the costumer service of Mystic kicks ass!!they replace everything that missfired or manufactured wrong..But always is a matter of the distributor.Hopefully in Greece he rocks
