Yeh I totally agree with your question and I have been asking myself the same thing. Want performance through aspect but not a full blown race orientated kite.

From what I can see the highest aspect three strut kite at the moment may be the 2013 blade trigger. The Evo is not high aspect. I have flown it. Good kite as north always is, does everything okay, not great in any category, although it does loop well and not a slouch in the waves, unhooks okay , jumps were ....okay.

And mate I'm here to help and learn myself in the meantime.

A very good question given what you have said.

The Evo is an interesting example because it started out as a three strut fatty delta all arounder, and as North found limitations, it finally went to five strut as they refined it and the magazine reviews got better and better. They say the 2012 and 2013 boost great.
They are saying..not quite as boosty as a few top dogs, but easier to nail it without being right on your game every time.

7m Trigger AR = 5.0
7m Evo AR = 4.9
7m Bandit AR = ?
7m Park AR = 4.1

Dang... you're right! The Tigger is the highest, but the Evo is really close.
The Park is definitely lower.
Does anyone know what the AR is for the Bandit6 7m?

I really liked the Trigger in 2010, 2011 when it was a 4.03 AR.
The AR of the EVO has gotten higher as they have refined it and changed to five struts.
Have not spoken to anybody directly about the 2013 Trigger in comparison to the older versions.
I know the LE got smaller for 2013 as the AR went up.
Have not read a 2013 Trigger magazine review.

Yeh I have been through all I can read on the trigger. Can't get on one here in WA, no distributor the Aussie distributor has not got back to me yet, which is always a worry!

Seems some really like it, and some riders from the earlier models don't! But aspect is something that some crew aren't looking for. Me, aspect equals performance, but that's just me. Hence why I ride edges.

Some things about the trigger I don't like, still the same shitty small inflate valve, ozone have got that spot on. Rope depower, not a fan. Spent way too many hours replacing bloody north depower ropes, that nearly sent me insane. Also related to the inflate valve, as it has a much thinner leading edge it seems you ned to put a fair bit of psi into it, which means produce a kite with a wide inflate valve!!

Yeh the aspect between the evo and the trigger is closer than I though hey. So I suppose it comes down now to canopy profile, bridal design and the overall feel it produces.

Yoda can you get on a trigger as well? Now that would be a very useful comparison. Over here only the evo possible unless I track down a 2013 trigger user, but winds too fickle down here right now.

Be great if ya could man.

KGB and L2K are both listed as dealers, but neither one stocks their kites.:-(

Please try to get a test on a Switch method V2 ar around 4,6
You would be surprised, l use it on my waveboard but also on my freeraceboard where on it is a great kite too..l own 9m 7m 5m it is the 9 m l use most on the free raceboard when the wind is getting too strong for my ozone edge 13m....

As l am not nto races, l am going to try to get a test on the switch method 13m...if this results in what l think it shpuld be, l will sell my ozone edge 13 m 2013....

Good luck with your choise
