Great Customer Service From Ozone

Postby alkiter » Thu Jun 27, 2013 2:05 am

Had a failure on an Ozone bar as shown in the attached photo, check your bars.
Sent the photo to OzoneUSA. Same day received reply and arrangement for a replacement bar.
That's one great example of customer service!

It's a 2012 bar. Noticed it after a session on 7m kite. Had about 20 sessions on it on 7m and 11m kites.

great to hear. Did it snap off or were you able to ride back to shore? Looks like a production failure for that piece only which sometimes happens in mass produced metal products. I have 7 ozone bars some with many hours of kiteloops etc... no issues or signs of failure although it does look like the design of that piece could be improved due to the leverage the angle produces.

Didn't separate completely, was still attached after the session.

Yes indeed. I've had one of mine crack. I could it before it failed and replaced it.

It happened on the bar I have one my foil that doesn't get washed down too often.

The bars that I was down after each session are fine.

My conclusion. Stress corrosion cracking.
