The last thing I'd ever want to take in to the surf zone is a kite with a long bridal.
it is a good concern. The new ride has a lot less bridle..and just a sliding "pulley".

The 2014 Park has no more pulley :thumb: ....but a much longer bridles setup than the 2013 version, which is very disappointing :angryfire:
I'm considering the new Ride if there is a lot less bridle than the first version (like they did with the Park 2013 compared to the earlier issues).
As Slappysan mentionned, short bridles are a mandatory attribute for a kite used in waves.

I gonna check that.... :cool2:

Less chance to catch a tip with the bridles if you drop the kite in the waves, which happen sometimes :o , hence better chance to relaunch before being hit by the next wave... :cool2:
Shorter and simpler the better :thumb:

Get a fuel..

It dosent make or break the kitechoise, if it is 75cm or 50cm bridle.. Feeling-turn-depower-power comes way before that, IMHO..

Reference was to the particular "bridle" attribute... which doesn't mean that the other attributes are less important.
A crap kite with short bridles remains a crap kite :jump:

the bridles on the new kites ride / park / draft all are shorter than the wingtips. That means the kite has to bend to catch the wingtips which should mean it is not much of an issue.

ride vs. park I think just depends on application...both are killer kites.

Is the craftsmanship/durability the same on both kites or is the Ride a use for a year at kite school and toss kinda kite?

No no all Naish kites are built super strong. My old ride that was used, abused and reused is still looking sparkly (on its third owner now). Good question tho.
They save on the strut, overall complexity of the sewing design and the bag I think. I do wish the ride had a lid on the bag like the park.

Just bought the version 1 12m ride for 599. I can get the 8 and 10m for 599 each as well. Should I do a 12,10,8 quiver and eventually get a 6M or just do a 12,8,6. I would get a 9M but they are 1100 bucks for the version 2. I weight 175-180 TT and directional board.
