Read an article yesterday on Patagonia testing a new inflatable life vest for surfers. Could be useful for kiting in certain circumstances. What are your thoughts

I've dropped my kite in to some heavy surf and found that I could keep afloat. But maybe big wave surfers or long distance kite surfers could get some use out of it.
So does this jacket stay constantly inflated or is it one of those ones where you pull a chord and then it inflates?
