I purchased a new Cabrinha pump in April and used less that half a dozen times and the black disc / seal on the base blew off without me knowing and I subsequently sucked a whole heap of grass and sand up into the pump.....and kite. Has anyone else experienced this fault? :(

No. Just the basic newer more volume air pump. BE CAREFUL if you have one of these.

If you notice a bang, weird noises or weird stuff with you pump.. Stop pumping..
Then, bring back to dealer, pick up new one!

The Cab pumps are made by Bravo, an Italian brand. I use this pump on all my different kites and only had some bad luck with it in winter, freezing temperatures. Still, it easily my choice of pump when going out on the water cause it makes pumping easier..

As with all pumps, a silicone based lubricant will make it much better and last much longer and I advise to spray it a couple of times a year.. (no wd40 or Crc) Not that it will help you with the plug blowing out, but hey, Thats a warranty if you ask me..

this is the worst pump, the pumping action itself is great but there's like 6 different ways it's going to fail by

the first thing you need to do to get at least a few months out of it is to seal the black ring, I wrapped it with duct tape so nothing gets sucked up (fine sand probably gets sucked up even straight from the factory) and it won't fall off

the soft plastic parts inside are going to fail next, maybe if you treat it super delicately it won't break quite so fast
